DAM, the noted prize Mare, Imported Queen of the Valley. This fine Clyde filly was awarded 2nd prize at Provincial Show, Ham- ilton, 1876 ; 1st prize at Western Fair, London, 1876 ; 3rd at Provincial, 1877, and 1st at County Snows at Chatham and Brantford. She is now fupposed to be in foal to the eel Iml'rte Imported Marquis of Lorne is 17j hands hig , weighs 2,400 lbs, with n immense substance ; stands on good feet, and has fine action. He was bred by James Fleming, Esq., of Knockbon, Scotland. Got by the eel;brated Stock and Prize Horse Old Campsie, admitted to be one of the very best breeding horses in the West of Scotland. Old Campsie gained the Fife and Kinross Prize of £45 two years in succession, and the Highland Socie- ty's Premium for FOUR years successively; the £50 prize for the County of Ayr, and the Glasgow Prize of £40 two years in succession. The Marquis of Lornt's dam was the best Ciyde mare in `'cotland, having been awarded the pighland Society's First Prize at Aberdeen, in 1858 ; 2nd Prize at Edinburgh ; First at Dumfries, Stirling, Shotts, Pais- ley, Johnton, and again at Inverness, &c. Queenof the Volley, Imported by Thompson & Reesor in 1872; Brown color: bred by Jaynes Bain, Esq., Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Her dam a large black Clydesdale mare of good quality, by Lord Haddo, which horse gained the 1st prize at the Royal Northern Agricultural Society's Show, three times in succession ; also 2nd at Highland Society's Show at Edin- burgh , and 2nd at Aberdeen. Queen of the 1 alley was sired by Young Pope, the property of Alex, Sim, Esq., Keith Hall. In 1870 Young Pope was awarded the first prize of £25, and the Challenge Cup valued at thirty guineas, at the Royal Nor- thern Society's Spring Show, als i first prize at the Summer Show of same Society. In 1871 he took second prize at Aberdeen, and many other prizes. In 1872 Queen of the Palley was awarded the first prize at East York and Markham Show; in 1874 she took first at South Ontario County Show first at Provincial Exhibition at Toronto, also first at East York and Mark- ham Fall Show, and is allowed by good judges to be one of the best draught hwj[es of her age in the Dominion.
