CUPE Ontario president Fred Hahn said the noon-hour event was held to “re-energize” picket- ing workers, who have been on strike since June 19. The other goal was to put pres- sure on the Region to send the outstanding bargaining issues to “interest arbitration,” which allows a third party to resolve the dispute. “We want to get a message to the public that this strike could be over today...if this is sent to a third party to decide,” he said. Matt Gaskell, the Region’s com- missioner of corporate services, said it’s not an option. / durhamregion.com / @newsdurham PICKERINGNews Adver tiser ContestNA Thurs., July 3, 2014 / A publication of Striking Region workers rally TODAY’S ONLINE VIDEO @newsdurham Pressrun 54,400 / 24 pages / Optional 3-week delivery $6 / $1 newsstand WHITBY -- CUPE National president Paul Moist, addressed workers during a rally at the Durham Regional Headquarters on July 2. The sticking point in negotia- tions is sick-time provisions for paramedics. CUPE Local 1764 and the Region of Dur- ham last met on June 26, but those talks broke down quickly. Representatives from other CUPE locals and other unions and labour groups attend- ed Wednesday’s rally to show support. Participants waved flags, danced and cheered in the blazing heat as a line of uni- formed security guards stood watch, mak- ing sure no one stepped off the public side- walk and onto the Region’s property. CUPE National president Paul Moist was given a loud welcome from the crowd as he encouraged the striking workers to hold the line. “Our unity will get us through this,” he said. “If they can pick off one group, it could be you next. We have to back up the para- medics.” Mr. Moist also touted the benefits of inter- est arbitration, saying it is a fair way to tackle negotiations that have stalled. He described the Region of Durham as being a “difficult” employer to negotiate with and said he hopes “cooler heads prevail.” Affected workers include paramedics -- who are still on the job -- as well as daycare staff, court services workers, public health inspectors and administrative workers in several different departments. Six of the seven daycare centres operated by the Region are closed and many other services are disrupted, ranging from sexual health clinics and water billing to restaurant inspections and beach monitoring. Sabrina Byrnes / Metroland newsdurhamnewsdurhamnewsdurham newsdurhamnewsdurhamnewsdurham Portion of Audley Road closed for summer Work needed prior to 2015 Pan Am Games Keith Gilligan kgilligan@durhamregion.com AJAX -- A section of Audley Road will be closed all summer for reconstruction. Ajax is rebuilding the road in advance of the thousands of people expected for the Pan Am Games in 2015. The Town is hosting the men’s and women’s baseball and softball competitions at the Sportsplex, at the south- east corner of Audley and Taunton roads. Ranil Fernando, the capital projects co- ordinator for Ajax, said the section between Rossland and Taunton roads will be closed during the construction. Access to the Audley Recreation Centre adjacent to the Sportsplex will be maintained, he added. Closing the road will reduce construction costs and the time needed to do the work, Mr. Fernando noted. Work will start in June and is expected to take until October, he said. On Monday, council approved awarding the almost $3.3-million contract to Elirpa Construction. One issue for councillors was the CPR train tracks which run east-west roughly halfway between Rossland and Taunton. An over- pass over the CPR tracks will cost about $5 million and isn’t planned for about 10 years, Mr. Fernando noted. As trains cross Audley, the whistles are sounded for safety measures and that has upset residents living nearby. A report to council stated staff supports the whistles being sounded. Ward 2 local Councillor Renrick Ashby noted residents have been complaining about the train whistle being sounded and he questioned why staff was recommending the whistle continue to be blown. Mr. Fernando said it’s a safety and liability issue. “It’s not in the Town’s best interest to take on the liability issue by taking away the whis- tle,” he noted, adding the Town would also have to undertake a safety review if the whis- tle were eliminated. Wards 1 and 2 Regional Councillor Shaun Collier said, “I’m looking forward to that overpass.” Paul Allore, Ajax’s director of planning and development services, said a bridge over the tracks “is way out there” in terms of when it will be built. “There are many other projects that are more important to the Town in terms of con- nectivity and moving people,” he said. For motorists to reach the ARC, they will most likely have to travel through the neigh- bouring subdivision, Mr. Fernando said, adding Durham Region Transit buses will be re-routed during the construction. du r h a m r e g i o n . c o m Ne w s A d v e r t i s e r • Ju l y 3 , 2 0 1 4 3 AP Stoney Creek 410 Lewis Road and the South Service Rd Located in Stoney Creek Decor Centre next to Stoney Creek Furniture (905) 643-4646 • (866) 693-4646 Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm Saturday 10am to 5:30pm •Sunday Noon to 5pm Mississauga 4561 Hurontario St, Unit #2 South East Corner of Hwy #10 & Eglinton (905) 755-9030 • (877) 784-4404 Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm Saturday 10am to 6pm •Sunday Noon to 5pm Woodbridge 7979 Weston Rd Located North of Hwy 7 (647) 427-3900 • (877)341-9260 Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm Saturday 10am to 6pm •Sunday Noon to 5pm www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com Find us on FacebookPickering 1095 Kingston Road Located East of Whites Road at Dixie (289) 631-1822 • (855) 635-8540 Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm Saturday 10am to 6pm •Sunday Noon to 5pm #1Name InFurniture JANE DOE-SMITHJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJANENENENENENENENEDDDDDDDDOEOEOEOEOEOEOEOE-S-S-S-S-S-S-S-SMIMIMIMIMIMIMIMITHTHTHTHTHTHTHTH 0000 0000 0000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 ASHLEY FURNITURE HOMESTOREASASASASASASASASHLHLHLHLHLHLHLHEYEYEYEYEYEYEYEYFFFFFFFFURURURURURURURURNININININININITUTUTUTUTUTUTUTUREREREREREREREREHHHHHHHHOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMESESESESESESESESTOTOTOTOTOTOTOTORERERERERERERERE 1/2 OFFBUYONEGETONE PLUS 3 MONTHS SAME AS CASH WITH NO ADMIN FEE* BUY THE 5 PIECE DINING ROOM, GET THE SERVER 1/2 OFF BUY THE DRESSER&MIRROR,GET THE KINGOR QUEEN BED 1/2 OFF $14 89 98 $19 69 95 $56 499 $77450 Dresser and Mirror 5 Piece Dining Room King Panel Bed Server YO U SAVE$564.99 YOU SAVE$774 .50 $11 69 99 $57499 $ Tr uffle Sofa $ Tr uffle Loveseat YOU SAVE$574 .99 BOGO 3 DAYS ONLY event BU Y THE SOFA ,GE T THE LOVESE AT 1/2 OFF *No interest &no payments for 3 months. Suspect in 40 Jamaican murders arrested in Ajax Jeff Mitchell jmitchell@durhamregion.com AJAX -- A fugitive being investigated in more than 40 murders by police “death squads” in Jamaica was arrested late last week in Ajax. Durham police assisted the Toronto police fugitive squad in the arrest June 27 of Wit- ney Hutchinson. The 28 year old is wanted by Jamaican authorities in connection with one murder and is a person of interest in dozens of other homicides, police said. The man is alleged to be among 11 officers suspected of carrying out the murders of civilians in Jamaica between 2009 and 2013, according to a report in the Brandon Sun. A Jamaican commission is currently investi- gating the killings. It’s alleged the so-called death squads tar- geted known criminals in Jamaica, the paper reported. Durham cops were among the officers who surrounded a home on Bean Cres- cent, in the vicinity of Westney and Rossland roads, Sergeant Bill Calder said. "Contact was made and two people left the residence without incident," he said. Mr. Hutchinson was arrested and taken into custody pending his return to Jamaica. He's believed to have fled after the murder of Sylvester Gallimore, police said. Mr. Hutchinson made his way to Canada and was allowed entry to visit family, police said. The RCMP became aware of his pres- ence in the country and on June 23 con- tacted Toronto police for assistance with his apprehension. du r h a m r e g i o n . c o m Ne w s A d v e r t i s e r • Ju l y 3 , 2 0 1 4 4 AP We have a winner. 60 Table Games • 545 Slots greatblueheroncasino.com Port Perry, ON /GreatBlueHeronCasino /gbh_casino 1stPlacePrize Can-Am ®Spyder®or$30,000 July 11-13,2014 $200EntryFee 2ndPrize•$10,000 3rdPrize•$6,000 4thto12th•$500each 1st PlacePrize1st PlacePrize Spyder® Spyder® Spyder or $30,000 1st PlacePrize Must be 19 years of age or older. Covanta says Durham incinerator will be safe Event allowed residents to ask questions, get answers on waste project Brad Andrews bandrews@durhamregion.com DURHAM -- Set up like a science fair or job fair, a recent public meeting allowed resi- dents the chance to both ask questions and get answers about the controversial Cour- tice waste incinerator. Representatives from York and Durham regions and the Covanta corporation came together to give the public a glimpse into how the soon-to-be-completed Durham York Energy Centre facility will work in the community. Held at the Newcastle Commu- nity Centre, the meeting’s purpose was to give residents information about the ener- gy-from-waste plant and how the incinera- tor operates. "Everything we do has to be transparent," said Greg Borchuk, Durham Region's proj- ect manager for the facility. "We want the public to be informed, we want to answer questions." The meeting, while informal, was required by provincial guidelines and the project's overall environmental assessment. People drifted in and out of the room throughout the three-hour event, looking over the pre- sentations set up by the different organiza- tions and talking with the representatives on hand. Covanta, the company set to operate the Courtice EFW plant, provided detailed maps and outlines of the future facility, including the process waste will go through as it’s burned for energy. There were video tours of other plants similar to the one Covanta will be building in Clarington. "It's an opportunity to explain what Cov- anta is and what we're going to do in the community," said James Regan, media rela- tions director for Covanta. "It's important for people to understand how the process works." "I want people to understand this will be a safe and energy-efficient facility," said Howard Titus, facility manager for the Cov- anta EFW facility. "I think most people are good at asking the questions that need to be asked." Dan Yourkevich, an Oshawa resident, said he came to the meeting because he'd been interested in the project since he'd heard of it. He had concerns about its possible effects on recycling programs and how Covanta will deal with the ash the plant produces. "The environment is too important to mess up," said Mr. Yourkevich. "A lot of peo- ple are concerned with what we burn and put into the air." "They want an honest opinion, is this proj- ect safe and would you have any fears of liv- ing with it?" said Mr. Borchuk, who current- ly lives in Oshawa. "I have no fears, none at all." The most diffi- cult task is finding appropriate placements to match our students’ abilities. Students need challenging placements to experience team work, dedication, perseverance and quality control. The Village of Taunton Mills is a most valued placement. The staff understands that emulating a “real job” is crucial in teaching students the expectations of a job. Their guidance and tutelage allows students to gain valued skills to add to their resumes. Recognition for providing this direction goes to Jen Greer and Frank McCann for their contribution to the work education portion of the program. Their generous, car- ing, patient disposition produces students that are confident and capable. Students who have completed a work term at the Vil- lage of Taunton Mills have gone on to spe- cialized culinary training at the renowned Geneva Center; been accepted into the CICE program at Durham College and after graduating found work in the culinary field and is also volunteering at a retirement res- idence. Bravo Taunton Mills for your sup- port. You are making a difference. Kathy Sisson Striking Durham workers should count their blessings To the editor: Re: ‘Striking Durham workers hold rainy rally’, durhamregion.com, June 25, 2014. I was flabbergasted when I read Ontar- io CUPE president Fred Hahn tell striking workers rainy weather on the picket line was because God was “crying” at the “unfair” treatment by the Region of Durham. That’s the rhetoric unions feed members to keep up their spirits. Their members may believe it, but I don’t. Here’s what I know: those workers have good-paying, secure jobs with benefits and a pension plan. They have homes and provide for their families. CUPE workers live in a country where their loved ones have access to free educa- tion and excellent health care. They should praise Canada rather than pick petty fights with the Region which -- in effect -- rep- resents the taxpayers. There are people in our communities who are sick, suffering and homeless. Children in our community who go to bed hungry. Parents who don’t have jobs or who work two jobs to put food on the table. My God is compassionate and he weeps for those people. He provides strength for those who are suffering. Those people are not your members on the pick- et line. Your members, Mr. Hahn, should count their blessings. Nancy Gummow Pickering and Ajax both want the money hosting a casino brings, but the best solution is for the casino to remain in Ajax next to Picov Downs and for the two municipalities to cut a deal. A provincial re-jigging of how casinos operate in Ontario means there will be just one casino in the Ajax, Pickering and Whitby zone. Ajax has a casino and wants to keep it and the millions in revenue it provides the municipality each year. Pickering has wavered on the issue but now has before it a massive development proposal that includes a casino. In recent months we’ve seen a lot of trashing of the Pickering proposal from the Ajax side. Mayor Steve Parish has accused his counterpart, Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan, of working behind the scenes to secure a casino. Two months ago, the question at Pickering council was, did Ajax make a casino revenue offer to Pickering? Earlier this month, Ajax council’s com- munity affairs and planning committee agreed with a staff report (big surprise) that zoning approval for the Pickering pro- posal is premature. We maintain that Ajax should do its utmost not to risk losing the Slots at Ajax Downs. And that means playing let’s make a deal with Pickering to ensure the casino remains in Ajax and Pickering abandons any notion of having one. When a possi- ble casino in Whitby entered the picture, Ajax offered Whitby 15 per cent of its slots revenue to declare itself an unwilling host for one. It’s a reasonable amount to offer Pickering. Some would argue that the Pickering casino proposal is unrealistic and there are reasons to agree with this position. And it’s unlikely that the highly success- ful Slots at Ajax Downs operation would be shut down. As well, with horse racing part of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming moderniza- tion strategy, it’s a natural to leave the casi- no in Ajax where it is. After the outcry over the end of the government’s Slots-at-Race- tracks Program, the Ontario government did a lot of back-tracking to show its sup- port for the Ontario horse-racing indus- try. The OLG website states it “has added a requirement for horse racing expertise in its upcoming Requests for Proposals for gaming site operators throughout Ontar- io.” The writing would seem to be on the wall. But you can’t beat a sure bet and Ajax cutting a deal with Pickering, with the latter getting a slice of the revenue pie, sounds fair to us. You can actually see the grass grow Regular rains and summer heat are caus- ing an explosion in our garden. I bet I could actually see the tomato plants grow, if I had the time and patience to sit there for an hour or an afternoon, watching them. And the green beans. Every morning they’re bigger and bushier, with less open space between rows. Nature gone wild as roots reach into the earth and plants push up toward the sun, taking in all that light and energy dur- ing these longest days of the year. The same explosion is happening in Dur- ham’s natural areas. I volunteered at a work day in the Thickson’s Woods Nature Reserve this week and could barely recognize the meadow, there’s been such a growth spurt since I was birding there in late May. Walls of green meet you everywhere you go, with the nannyberry and red-osier dogwood in full leaf and the goldenrod already waist-high. Catbirds and orchard orioles were singing and scolding, well hidden in the greenery. We were digging out dog-strangling vine, so had to leave the paths and venture into that jungle of green, wading through seas of fragrant bedstraw and waving grass as we looked for the purplish, curling tips of the alien invader we were targeting. Orange flagging ribbons placed a month ago were lost in the foliage and new growth. But swal- lowwort, dog-strangling vine’s other name, grows so fast and climbs so successfully up any plants around it that it’s always a step ahead. For part of the morning I was pulling up patches of another invasive species, garlic mustard, that had been missed earlier in spring. Just in time, for the stalks had shot up, out-competing all nearby native plants for light, and had already produced their thin pods, green candelabras that would soon split open and discharge thousands of tiny seeds in a circle around the parent plant. We had to cart armfuls out of the meadow, removing that source of seeds, and beneath each grove, the small heart-shaped leaves of next year’s crop were already flourishing. At one point I climbed up the high berm along the west edge of the meadow to check for more patches, and found myself dwarfed by reed canary grass. I had to follow a deer path to get through, and at every step clouds of light pollen shook down on me from the delicate tassels waving above my head. I sneezed for three minutes. The high point of the morning was coming across a mass of multiflora rose in full bloom. I smelled the sweet perfume before I spotted the bank of white blossoms, then detoured over to bury my nose in them. We’ve all seen movies where the injured person sweats in the physio gym for months, leading up to that final moment where they stand on their own two feet at last. Those are truly inspiring images, ones that play out in real life all the time. But physiotherapy is much more than a treatment for sports injuries, strokes, and spinal cord damage. A round of treatments can help people with all kinds of chronic conditions regain their strength and live pain-free. PhysiotheraPy for arthritis If you’ve begun to find it hard to grab a pen to write down a quick reminder, or if your knees are so sore you can hardly stand after an hour of watching TV, physiotherapy is for you. Expect to receive treatments for pain relief, such as thermal therapy, and to be instructed on some exercises that will increase range of movement and build strength. PhysiotheraPy for diabetes Physiotherapy treatments help people with types I and II diabetes get pain relief for nerve damage in the feet; learn weight control techniques; and learn how to manage blood glucose levels. PhysiotheraPy for resPiratory Problems Patients suffering from lung diseases such as emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis, and bronchiectasis can be helped by learning breath- ing exercises from a physiotherapist. These tech- niques strengthen the diaphragm, increase lung capacity, and keep the lungs and chest supple. PhysiotheraPy for vertigo Chronic dizziness and nausea are often caused by the build-up of crystals in the inner ear tubes, an affliction that can incapacitate oth- erwise healthy people. Physiotherapy exercis- es can help dislodge these crystals and get the body’s natural balancing system back into order. An out- door Sunday service kicked off the day’s festivities and had patrons spurn their chairs to clap and sing along to the hymns. The festival was a key part of Ajax’s first Caribbean Week which ran from June 23 to the 30, and featured local businesses and others holding Caribbean-themed events. Just like the week’s events across Ajax, a touch of the Caribbean was spread well across the festival’s grounds with performances by steel drum bands, Caribbean artists and food demonstrations from community chefs. He keeps stand- ing committee meetings running smoothly and provides insight on important issues, but doesn’t drag on. He seconded a motion about discouraging tobacco use by students, but he was able to finesse the motion to help it move more smoothly through the process. This is an example of his familiarity with board proce- dure and his respect for the process. He stays active in the community and the students loved it when he joined them at Pine Ridge Secondary School and sang and played guitar with them at a performance before the board. He’s also improved his attendance sig- nificantly. Last year he only attended two of 10 standing committee meetings and this year he made it to nine. He asked staff to update the tobacco use policy within the board in order discourage use, and also speaks up on issues that don’t only pertain to Pickering schools, but all schools within the board. For example, he raised concerns about the possi- bility of false reports when staff gave a presen- tation on a new anonymous bully reporting tool. He sits on the audit committee. Police said the Scarborough child was driving a go-kart, under adult supervision, in an industrial parking lot on Clements Road at about 9:30 p.m. on July 1 when she lost control and crashed into two parked vehicles. The girl was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious head inju- ries as well as injuries to her hands. Police and EMS responded and the child was transported to hos- pital in Ajax, then later airlifted to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dog Days of Scugog are here again Canine carnival returns to Scugog Island SCUGOG ISLAND -- The dog days of summer are finally here and so are the Dog Days of Scugog. The popular Dog Days of Scugog return to the Scugog Shores Museum in July, turning the Scugog Island historical site into a weekend-long dogstravaganza as canine vendors, activities and contests take over. The canine carnival, which doubles as a fundraiser for the Scugog museum, will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both July 19 and 20. Now in its 12th year, Dog Days of Scugog has turned into Durham Region’s larg- est dog event and more than 2,000 dogs, their owners and interested spectators are expected to take a sniff around the muse- um grounds. Also returning for the 2014 edition of Dog Days of Scugog is your favourite com- munity newspaper, The Port Perry Star, which is once again a lead sponsor of the event. More than 50 exhibitors are expected to take part in Dog Days, plus Ontario Dock Dogs, Scugog Disc Dog and Woof Jocks. There will be a vendors’ market, a parade of breeds and fashion shows, con- tests and prizes, a barbecue and children’s crafts and games. Since the inaugural Dog Days of Scugog event in 2003, more than 13,000 people and their dogs have experienced the fes- tival and $80,000 has been raised for the museum. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for stu- dents and seniors. There’s a $2 charge for children five to 12; kids four and younger are admitted free. Playing together on the same basketball team is something the brothers have always wanted to do, and they will get that chance when they suit up for the University of Regi- na Cougars this season. Brandon has one season under his belt in Regina, while Jona- thon will be coming in fresh after transferring from Acadia University. They both started at the same spot, Pickering High School, but from there it’s been a bit of a road map for both. Jonathon left to play NCAA Division 1 bas- ketball at Central Connecticut State after graduating from Pickering, but after just one year, transferred to Acadia University in Nova Scotia. “Basketball wise it was what I expected, if not more,” says Brandon of his time in the NCAA. “The whole reason for me transfer- ring to Acadia was, I figured I wanted to come back to the CIS and give that a shot. “Academically, Acadia was well regarded. I felt like if I had a chance to graduate from there, it would put me in a better position after basketball is done.” Jonathon was part of the 2012 AUS title team, and competed in both the 2012 and 2013 CIS Championships. In his first season he averaged 9.4 points, improving that to 11.8 in his second year. After graduating this past spring with a degree in sociology, he decided to join his younger brother in Regina to complete his masters program. On the basketball court, he still has two years of eligibility remaining. “Me and my brother always talked about playing with each other when we were younger. We didn’t think it would be possible because of the age gap.” Regina coach Steve Burrows welcomed the addition of a second Tull to the roster. “Jonathan will bring a winning attitude and a ton of high-level experience to the pro- gram,” he says on the school’s website. “He’s a combo guard that is going to get to the rim and be a player that will put a lot of pressure on defences.” Brandon made an impact with Regina as a freshman, named to the Canada West all- rookie team. He led the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game, had a team high 33 steals, was second on the team with 24 three-pointers and averaged 3.4 rebounds per game. He says just getting to university was an adjustment at first, but once he got comfort- able with the routine in the classroom, he flourished on the court. “On the basketball side I listened to what the coach wanted in practice and took every- thing in like a sponge,” he says. “The coach gave me confidence to learn from mistakes, was positive of what I was doing. Each game I played better.” Coach Burrows had high praise for the contribution. “For a player straight out of high school, I thought the most impressive part of Bran- don’s game this year was the consistency he showed throughout the season. His ability to create his own shot off the dribble was some- thing we relied on a lot as the season went on.” Brandon spent three years at Pickering High School, then transferred to The Phelps School in Pennsylvania for two years, hoping to use that as a springboard to the NCAA. “When I was younger I always wanted to play in the NCAA, it was one of my goals,” he says. “A lot of kids from here were going the prep school route. I thought it was the best decision for me at the time to develop and get exposure.” A serious knee injury in his recruiting year hurt his chances of living out that dream. As for the obvious question -- who wins a one on one game -- the brothers danced around the question, avoiding a definitive answer. If those kind of moves can be par- layed on to the court, it will certainly serve Regina well. AJAX -- Jonathon Tull, left, gets ready to dunk while his brother Brandon moves in. The brothers will be playing basketball together at the University of Regina next season. Ryan Pfeiffer / Metroland Soccer Pickering Soccer Club to host international friendly PICKERING -- The Pickering Soccer Club will be hosting the Montego Bay United Foot- ball Club on Friday, July 4, for an interna- tional friendly match, followed by a League1 Ontario game between Durham United FC and TFC Academy. Soccer Pickering Power U14 reach final at Robbie soccer tourney SCARBOROUGH -- One of three local teams that advanced all the way to the cham- pionship game at the 48th Robbie Interna- tional Soccer Tournament celebrated a title at game’s end. In the girls U15 division, Ajax FC 99 White prevailed 5-4 on penalty kids over the Dixie Athletics Black. The teams finished reg- ulation play tied 1-1 with Ajax’s goal credited to Milinda Robiero. In the boys U13 division, Ajax FC Red was blanked 1-0 by champion Brampton Blast. In the girls U14 division, Julia Martins had the lone goal for the Pickering Power Green who came up short to the Aurora Stingers 3-1. We are very proud of you, Love Mom and Dad LAURIER UNIVERSITY SAM P L E TIM CROUCH Personal Prayer To The Holy Spirit Holy Spirit, Thou make me see everything and show me the way to reach my ideal. You, who give the divine gift to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me and who are in all instances of my life with me. I, in this short dialogue, want to thank You for everything and confirm once more that I never want to be separated from You, no matter how great the material desire may be. I want to be with You and my loved ones in Your perpetual glory. Amen. Person must pray this three consecutive days without stating one's wish. After the 3rd day, your wish will be granted no matter how difficult it may be. Promise to publish this as soon as your favor has been granted. Say glory be to the Father. Thank-you for favours received. S.E. Geoffrey John Dykstra July 8, 1993 - August 24, 2008 For our Beautiful Son and Loving Brother Geoffrey would have been 21 years old this year. Oh Geoffrey, how we love you and miss you. Not a day goes by without you in our thoughts. Love Mom and Dad, Laura and Kaitlyn "See you later" Melissa Julianne Coady September 30th 1983 - July 6th 2013 We are sending a butterfly to heaven With a parcel on its wings Be careful when you open it It's full of beautiful things Inside are a million kisses wrapped up in a million hugs To say how much we miss you And to send you all our love. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again. To our beautiful angel Melissa Julianne, it's hard to believe that a year has passed since we last saw your beautiful smile. Our broken hearts still beat to the rhythm of love and memories. You are forever missed and forever in our hearts. Lots of Love Mom, Dad, A.J., Courtney and Daisy A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam. And for a brief moment Its glory and beauty belong to our world. But then it flies on again And though we wish It could have stayed We feel so lucky to have seen it.
