We regret to learn of the death of
Mr. W. T. Atkinson which occurred
at -his residence in Toronto on the 4th
inst., at the age of 76 years. The de-
ceased carried on a drug business here
for many years and was a. man held iu
high esteem for Ids genial qualities of
head and heart. He held the office of
churchwarden of St. George's church
on several occasions and interested
himself in the welfare (.,f the town
where he owned considerable proper-
ty at the time of his death. His funeral
took place on Thursday afternoon and
wa.s attended by several of his old
townsmen who with us regret his

A daring robbery was perpetrated
at Lemonville on Friday evening,
when the postoffice was broken into
and luckily there was not many
stamps or money left in the office.
The burglar made his entrance by
taking out a large pane of glass.
About two dollar's worth of stamps
were taken.
James Whitson, Jr., is the victiu, of
a shooting accident. While out on 0
hunt a few days ago, he stc;pped to
to look about with his left hand at the
muzzle of the gun. His dog jumped
against the gun and caused it to dis-
charge with the result that Mr. Whit -
son's thumb was shattered by the shot,
The thumb has since been amputated.
