Police, however, did not recover the
weapon and have issued a warrant for the
arrest of Mr. Armsuong. released from
the Mimico facility on an absence pro-
gram.

The public workshops - free to any retail
husiness owner or employee - will focus on
"environmental design" and how it can make a
store vulnerable.
For example. noted Constable Pat Judges, a
store's exterior lighting and interior layout can
act as prolection for a business, while window
advertising is "great protection" for a rubber.
"We're trying to get stores away from the
advertising -covered windows. so that cmpluy-
ccs are able to sec the parking lot and sur-
roundings from inside the store," Const.
Judges said.
The workshops, to he held in every com-
munity, will he hosted by one member of the
Community services branch and one member
of the robbery unit.
Participants will be provided with a Roh-
hery Prevention Kit which includes decals.

The fact that Sky mark International Inc. is on
its way east to Hunt Street and Monarch Avenue
is being welcomed by Alax officials for obvious
reasons. The firm will pay taxes to Ajax and its
ernplo%'ees will patronise nearby businesses on
their wa\ to %cork. on their lunch breaks and on
their way home.
Those in Pickering who will bemoan the loss
of a second business this vicar should sec the sil-
ver linin: in the cloud. The tact that the manufac-
turcr of heating and air conditioning units could-
n't find enough space in Pickcrin_' to consolidate
