Budget deficits, over -taxation, excessive government regulation on business, keeping Canada together and strengthening the family are all mentioned. There is no reference to what, in my view, is the number -one problem in Canada today and should be the most urgent issue in this elec- tion: continued high rates of unemployment. The PTC contacted the school board and the Town of Ajax, with regards to building code con- cerns. After much bureaucratic rhetoric, these questions remain unanswered. The board claims the portables are temporary structures and not governed under the code. The Town con- firms the portables are bound by the same building code require- ments as the main school build- ing. Clearly, one of these groups must be incorrect. One thing is crystal clear: In order to meet the creeds of cur- rent and future students, especial- ly with the housing growth in Ajax, more schools are required.
