....J. D. A. Tripp's
....Piano Recital....
At Pialuing Co1Lgs on 1b..y
®. lase. da1e96.
—Pickering College is about to close a
successful term with the beat concert that
it has yet given. On Tuesday evening
next Mr. J. D. A. Tripp, A.T.C.M., one
of its old students, who has won laurels
in hie profession both at home and
abroad, will present a pi ogram of anus -
nal merit. This is Mr. Tripp's final ap-
pearance before leaving for a two years
sojourn in Germany. Mies M. Huston
the vocal soloist of the evening is one of
Canada a rising singers. No one should
fail to bear her rendering "The Sande
O'Dae. Another attractive feature of the
program will be the selections for two
prance by Mies Morrie and Mr. Tripp.
—The piano recital, by Mr. J. D. A.
Tripp, assisted by Mies Frances Morris,
pianist, and Mies Margaret Huston, so-
prano, at the college Tuesday evening was,
a brilliant success. The large class room
was handsomely draped with the college
colors, blue and white, while the sweet
fragrance of blooming flowers filled the
air of the spacious room.. Although the
room is a large one, it was comfortably
filled with friends of the village, %room•
panied by those from Whitby, Claremont,
Brougham, Dnnbarton and Greenwood.
Mr, Tripp's selections were very much
enjoyed and upon each appearance he was
encored to the echo. Mise Morrie, as as.
sistaht pianist did nobly, while the vocal
selections of Mies Huston, were exception.
sly sweet and classical. Although the
program was a long one, the encores were
liberally responded to. Hie many friends
here were well p:eased to again nave an
opportunity of hearing Mr. Tripp, and all
espresa the desire to have him back with
us soon after his return from Germany,
where he is about to go for a two years
term. The Principal and faculty of the
college. are to be congratulated upon the
success that has attended their effects in
this respect, as itis seldom such an. oppor•
tunity is given us to hear such eminent
specialists.
