His wife died In 1895, and he in 1903 at are age of 86 Their family of an children are all still (1911) living. In 1855 he purchased a fans owned by his cousin, Robert Middleton, on the rem of Concession 7, Pickering Township (Lot 13). George Middleton married Maria Horsley. They had ten childrem lames, John, Richard H., Mary (Mrs. Gauslin), Jane (Mrs. Burgess), Elizabeth (Mrs. Usher), Matilda (Mrs. Story), George Jr., Borrow (Mrs. Gibson), and William. George Middleton Sr. died in 1903 at the age of eighty-aix. His wife lied in 1895. The original "Middleton" farm was carried on by George Jr. He married Georgina Barnes. Theirfamily were George, John%ad Ada. John Middleton now ns the farm (Lot 13, Con. 7) his grandfather bought in 1855. John married Jessie Bee1Ly (Loc 10, Con. 5) in 1939. n In 1908 George Sr. and Mada's youngest son, William Middferoq purchased a farm at Greenwood (Lot 10, Con. 6) from Robert Cowan. Ito original owner was the Hon. John Intraday. It had been owned by William McKiurick for many years. William Middleton's family includes: farcy, Edna (Mrs. Russell Philip), Alice (deceased), Herbert, Elva (Mrs. Kenneth Elson), Howard (died when an infant). Elva and Ken Eisen have their home in Greenwood village. They have three children—Wayne, Virginia, and Lamy Kevin. Herbert Middleton married Doreen Whalen in 1941 They live on the farm at Greenwood (Lot 10, Con. 6). They have a family of fcurchildren —Herb. Death has again removed one of our ablest residents in the person of Geo. Sdiddletoo, at the age of 86 years and 6 days. His death look piece on Water, Jan. E60, after only two days illness fmm pneumonia. His frmarel back place on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, when, alter service being held at Salem church, his remains were inleved in the adjoining cemetery. The deceased was a native of Yorkshire, England, but has been a resident of this country for about 73 years. He settled with his parents in the Gore of Toronto, but moved to Picketing township about 46 years ago, where he has resided ever since. He was one of the old landmarks of the unstable and few now living have witnessed more changes in the country than he. He was highly respected by all who knew him as was testified by the large number who followed his mems to their ast resting place. His wife died seven years ago, but he leaves to mourn his death five sons and five daughters all of whom are barred. n r Obituary of George Middleton, Jr. (1859-1924) From Pickering News, Friday, 12 December 1924, p. 1. Deadt of George Middleton On Thursday, Too. 4s, George Middleton, beloved husband of Georgina Barnes, died at his late residence on the seventh concession of Pickering after an illness of only three days. There remains to mourn his dead, a loving wife, two sons and a daughtr, also two brothers and three sisters, Richard Middleton, of Elinvale, Wm. Middleton, of Greenwood, Mrs. Usher and Mrs. Story, of Elmvale, and Mrs. Gibson, of Medellin. The high esteem in which the deceased was held was shown by numerous Float gifts and the large gathering of friends and relatives who attended the funeral on Sunday aftemoon when the remains were laid to rest in Salem Cemetery, Rev.
