Livingstone Cameron Brown and commences with Nicholas and Esther Brown having already
left Ferrisburgh, VT. I transcribed this letter in 1989. There are likely several translation
inaccuracies due to misinterpretation of the text. Several words remain unknown due to
reading difficulty and unfamiliarity with the geographical region being discussed. Hopefully,
other reviewers of the original letter will shed some light on what I was unable to interpret.
It would appear that some of Alfred's information may have been assumption and or simply
passed along to the writer inaccurately. In 1938 he did not have the modern marvels of
computers/the internet or for that matter even a typewriter. As example, the first line
contains an error regarding Nicholas Brown. He was not born in Maryland; on 01/23/96,
I visited the Town of Richmond, County of Cheshire, State of New Hampshire; Town Clerk and
confirmed Nicholas Brown was born in Richmond, July 9, 1785 to Abraham and Catharine
Brown.

The Brown family settled on Lots 5,6,and 7, Conc.2 and Lots 4 and 9, Conc. 3. in the
Township of Pickering.
