Sept. 21, 1735 New London, Connecticut d. June 1774 Milford, Conn. married Mary (Mercy) Huntley, daughter of Joseph Huntley & Ruth Williams b. * 1731 d. * 1768 Timothy Rogers ( #1) was their only child. Each married someone else later on. Dec. 16, 1846 Pickering 17 " "1 Timothy & Sarah Rogers came to Newmarket from Vermont in 1801. He brought with him 20 (40 ?) other Quaker families. After Newmarket became settled, he moved to Pickering Twp. (1807), where he built a saw and grist mill on Duffin's Creek. (1810). The mills burned down in 1956. The saw mill was located on Duffin's Creek, just south of the present Highway 401 and the railroad bridge overpass. They had 15 children: 8 sons, 7 daughters. 1.1 Obadiah Wilde Rogers b. Wing went back to Ferrisburg, Vermont after Hannah died in a typhoid epidemic. He received a Certificate of Removal to Monkton Monthly Meeting on Oct. 12, 1809. Disowned and went back to States. Teacher in Aurora, 1806. Vern Winterton found : Timothy Rogers married Phebe Royster on July 22, 1823 in Goochland, Virginia. He was born 1788 ! 1.8 Elisabeth Rogers b. May 13, 1790 d. 1809 married Oct. 16, 1806 by a magistrate John Bostwick, son of b. d. She was disowned by Quakers. (Con. 3, Lot 3 W. Nov. 2, 1888 Friends, Pickering 1.14 John Elmsley Rogers b. Sept. 12, 1800 d. Dec. 3, 1809 T's house, Pickering This John also died in the typhoid epidemic. He was named after John Elmsley, Chief Justice of Upper Canada at the time Timothy received his land grants. Martha received a ""Certificate of Removal"" from Yonge Street Monthly Meeting to South River Monthly Meeting in Campbell County, Virginia on Jan. 12, 1832. It is supposed that she moved there to be near her brother Timothy. SEE 1.7 in Virginia. " "1.19 John Wilde Rogers b. Feb. 23, 1819 d. married < Mar. 16, 1843 , daughter of b. d. A complaint was received at the YS MM on Mar. 16, 1843 ( p.155), that John had married a non-member and joined another society. Since he did not acknowledge his ""mistake"", he was disowned by the Quakers. Info from Kathy Shantora: John Wilde Rogers married Anna B. Turner (from Ohio) lived in Ohio NOTHING CONFIRMED !!!! 1.20 David Timothy Rogers b. Dec. 8, 1820 d. married Oct. 31, 1844 at Friends Meeting House, Pickering Martha Brown, daughter of James Brown & Mary Phillips b. Oct. 2, 1825 Pickering Twp. d. A complaint was filed against David at Yonge Street MM on July 1, 1845 for marrying a non-member ( someone who had separated !). Since he acknowledged his mistake, he was not disowned.
