HomeMy WebLinkAbout2083"A number of people to the extent of fifty gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Benson, of Atha, o
ne evening last week. The guests were Robert Whitson, the Misses Whitson, members of the
Calvert, Beattie, Dunkeld, Bray and Russell families also a few from Claremont. Two of Mr. and
Mrs. Benson's neices from Pon typool were with them. Music, dancing and games whiled away
the hours of the evening. Mr. Pearson and son, of Stouffville, furnished the music which was most
excellent, and while listening to the Last Rose of Summer, Coming Thro' the Rye, Bonnie Charlie
and other old airs, we felt that we were receiving a treat indeed. Needless to say, Mr. and
Mrs. Benson left nothing undone as regards hospitality, and all those present considered they
had had a right enjoyable time.
