Pickering Wins!
In spite of unsettled weather the annual Field Inter-School Meet took place at Brooklin on Friday,
October 6. Due to the well organized program in charge of Mr. Kaine, Principal of the
High School, all the events were completed ahead of schedule.
The Pickering pupils made a fine showing, obtaining 20 Firsts, 19 Seconds, 12 Thirds for the
Boys, and 13 Firsts, 15 Seconds and 11 Thirds for the Girls, bringing the Championship to their
school for the second successive year. Six of the eleven individual cups were won by
Charles Hiltz, Senior; Jack James, Junior; Bill Hansen, Juvenile; Leigh Parker, Midget;
Mary Waizmen, Intermediate; Marion Smith, Junior.
The final score: Pickering 190; Brooklin, 131, Claremont 105. The High School Section
accounted for 93 Points and the Public School 97 Points.
