On Friday last there passed away, one of the oldest redidents in the county of Ontario, in the person of Mrs. Alexander Knox, at the ripe olf age of 93 years and 6 months. She has been a resident of this locality from the time when it was a vast wilderness, during which period she has witnessed many changes. Her funeral took place last Sunday when friends and acquaintences from far and near were there to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed The bereaved friends have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. During the past week that grim monster death has been activein our midst among the older members of our community. On the Brock Road there passed away at the residence of her son, Thos. Knox. Mrs. Alexander Knox at the advanced age of niney-three years and six months. She was the eldest resident of the township and had done her share in the arduous task that was common to the pioneers of the country. There also died on the same day at the residence of her son A.Ridley, Mrs. Elizabeth Ridley at the age of 85years. Her funeral took place on Monday, when service conducted by the pastor Rev. Wilson of the Methodist Church here after which interment took place in the Methodist burial ground. A large number of friend and acquaintences attended to pay their last respects. to the departed.
