Take notice that you are rated in the Municipality of the Township of Pickering for Taxes for the year 1933, as per subjoined bill. And Take Notice that the Assessment Act provides that in case any person neglects to pay his taxes for 14 days after demand, the Collector may be himself or his agent, levy the same with costs by distress of the goods and chattels of the person. And Take Notice that on ail of said taxes paid on or before the 15th day of December, 1933, a discount of 2 per cent. will be allowed ; that on all of said taxes remaining unpaid after the said 15th day of December, 1933, but being paid on or before the 15th day of February, 1934. no penalty will be added or imposed; but on all of said taxes not paid until after said 15th day of February, 1934, a penalty of 2 per cent. will be added and imposed ; and on al of said taxes remaining unpaid after the 15th day of March, 1934, the increased total penalty of 3 per cent. will be added and imposed ; and on all of said taxes remaining unpaid until after the 15th day of April, 1934, the increased total penalty of 4 per cent. will be added and imposed ; and on all of said taxes remaining unpaid until after the 15th day of May, 1934, the increased total penalty of 5 per cent. will be added and imposed. Persons remitting taxes by mail, or writing the Collector for information, must enclose 3 cents in postage stamps to ensure return of receipt or reply ; and exchange must be added to cheques forwarded in payment of taxes. The Collector will not be responsible for any money paid as taxes except to himself, or at his residence, or to the Canadian Bank of Commerce at Claremont or Pickering, Ontario.
