TEE-PEE MOTEL BURNS The Tee-Pee Motel, well-known landmark on the Bay Road at No. 2A Highway, was gutted by fire on Monday afternoon, Mrs. Lyle Jones, wife of the owner, said the loss would amount to $100,000.00. ""There was not a cent of insurance on the place"" said Mrs. Jones' to the News. The fire broke out in a bedroom near the west end and was spotted by the caretaker, W. Stafford, before he could get water on the fire the room was a roaring inferno. Pickering, Brougham and the South-west Fire Area Brigades answered the call but the strong west wind whipped the flames through the building in a short time. Some the contents on the north wing of the eighteen-room and restaurant structure were saved. A couple checked out at noon on Monday and the fire was discovered in their room shortly after 1.00 p. m. No one was injured in the fire."
