Old Tymers' Service At Claremont A unique and impressive service was Held in Claremont Baptist Church last Sunday evening in connection with the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary celebration. It took the form of an ""old-timers"" service at which those members in the longest standing or representatives of the old-established families took part. The service was conducted by Mr. Fred Ward; Mr. G. M. Forsyth, the great, great great grandson of Elder Wixon, the founder of the church and first elder, told us something of the history of the organization. Special music was rendered by the quartet, two members of which. Messrs Evans Ward and Morgan Pugh were a lso members of the original quartet and have sung together for nearly forty years. Miss S. E. Evans, the oldest member in years of member ship told us something of ""then and now""; a solo was sung by Miss Emma Brown and Mr. Harry Found delivered the inspirational address. Our Honor Roll of those who have been members for fifty years or more and are still active in the church consists of: Miss S. E. Evans. Mrs. M. Benson, Mr. Harry Found, Mrs. R. E. Forsyth, Miss Emma Brown, Mr. Evans Ward and Mr. Fred Ward, all seven of whom with the exception of Mrs. R. E. Forsyth who is visiting her daughter in Windsor, were on the platform. Also with us were: Mrs. Spears, Whitevale, who is a member of our church but has been a resident in Whitevale for a number of years and Mr. Morgan Pugh, who has recently moved to Uxbridge and has transferred his membership there. We regret the absence of Mrs. Walford who is unable to attend because of ill health, Mrs. Thomas Linton, who is confined to hospital at Stouffville. Mr. Ed. Linton, who has been confined to bed for a number of months and Mrs. T. C. Gostick, who is at present resident in Stouffville, all of whom, have a membership of over fifty years. Another interesting feature in connection with this service was a word of greeting from a number of former pastors of the church, including Rev. A. R. Park, Rev. H. Wood, Rev. R. Stephens, Rev. Augustine and Rev. Walter Deniels. A good congregation was in, attendance, and inspiration and helpfulness was experienced by all. "
