James Jackson, an aged and highly respected resident of this locality, died at his residence on Tuesday morning, aged 84 years. Deceased came to Canada from Antrim Co., Ireland, about fifty yeas ago, and most of his life since then has been spent in this locality, where he conducted a blacksmithing business. He ceased hard work about 18 years ago, and, although crippled some by rheumatism, was an active man for his years. He leaves a widow and grown up family of eight children. Mrs. Jackson is in poor health, and the death of her husband has much added to her enfeebled condition. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, when the remains were interred in the Christian cemetery, Brougham. The bereaved family have much sympathy in their bereavement. "
