Many of the original features remain, such as the wainscotting in the kitchen, the pine floors in the living room, large baseboards and passage doors. Built for a relative of Captain Matthews, subsequent residents included the postmaster, Mr. Logan and local merchant, James Richardson. This house is designated under the Ontario Heritage Act.
