HomeMy WebLinkAbout1389Article photocopied from the Pickering News, July 14, 1947, page 1.The death took place on Friday, June 27, 1947 at her home, corner 2nd concession and Valley Farm Road., of Elizabeth Sanders, beloved wife of the late Henry Morrison, in her 83rd year.The late Mrs. Morrison had been in very poor health for some years, and on many occasions during the past years, critically ill. Her recovery on these occasions was indicative of her remarkable constituion. Born in Gittsham. Devonshire, Eng. Mrs. Morrison came to this country as a very young woman, with her parents. In 1903 she married Mr. Morrison, the marriage taking place in Toronto. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sanders, the deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arthur W. Mitchell (Hilda), of this place; two sons: Frank, of Oshawa and Norman of Winnipeg: and one brother, John Sanders, of Pickering.Mrs. Morrison, a citizen o f this municipality for the greater part of her life, was very well known and highly regarded by her many friends and neighbours. Devoted to her family, she received the same devotion by those memers of her family, and will be greatly missed by all.The funeral took place on Monday from her late residence, with interment at Erskine Cemetery.
