page 1.Death of R.E. Michell. The following is taken from the Toronto News of Friday, Dec. 28th:
"A fall on the pavement is believed to have been responsible for the death yesterday of
Mr. Robert E. Michell, of 7 Grant street, who was stricken suddenly while visiting his cousin,
Dr. Michell, at 695 Broadview avenue. Mr. Michell slipped and fell soon after leaving his home
on the way to his cousin's residence. He got up and continued his walk and was apparently
uninjured. Shortly after reaching his cousin's he was stricken with paralysis, lost conciousness a
few minutes later and died several hours afterwards. It is believed that in the fall Mr. Michell
suffered a rupture of a blood vessel in the brain. This is thought to have resulted in cerebral
hemorrhage. The late Mr. Michell was born at Claremont on May 17th, 1861. He came to
Toronto many years ago, and for the past few years has been living retired. He is survived
by his widow, one son, Frank, in the postal service, and two daughters, Mrs. MacKay, and
Mrs Smith. The funeral takes place to-morrow (Dec. 29th) to St. John's Cemetery" The late
Mr. Michell was a brother of Mrs Lyman Pilkey and Mrs. Ed. Gibson, of Claremont.
