1952, page 1.Roy V. MowbrayThe death took place suddnely on the past weekend of one of the
members of the one of Pickering Townshp's older and well-known families in the person of Roy
V. Mowbray, of Brooklin, who for many years operated the general store in the centre of the
family's early surrondings, Kinsale.Roy Mowbray was known throughout Pickering and Whitby
Townships. He has always been an active church-worker and a devoted member of the
Masonic Order, and was District Deputy Grand Master of Ontario district in the 1946-47 year.
A son of the late R.R. Mowbray the deceased is survived by his wife the former Eva Rodd, a
daughter Mrs. Lloyd G. Moody and one son Ralph. A son Jack, was lost while with the R.C.A.F.
at Malta in the late war. Two sisters also survive; Mrs. R.S. McLaughlin, Oshawa, and Miss
Luella Mowbray, Kinsale; and two brothers: Frank, of Hamilton, and Ralph E. on the Mowbray
homestead, Kinsale.The funreal took place on Sunday afternoon with service in Brooklin United
Church, and interment at Groveside Cemetery.
