HomeMy WebLinkAbout1346Photocopy of an obituary for William Ham, taken from the Pickering News, dated October 5, 1917, page 8.On Friday last death removed one of the oldest residents in the township, Mr. Wm. Ham, who passed away suddnly in his 88th year. The deceased was a native of Cornwall, England, and came to Canada in 1851, and has been a resident of the township ever since. He was highly esteemed for his industry and integrity and he was ever willing to lend a helping hand to those asking his assistance. He was a member of the Methodist church and was a most regular attendant. His wife has been dead for 31 years, bit he is survuved by his three sons. Harvey of Fergus, Norman and Samuel of Manitoba. His funeral took place on Monday to the Methodist cemetery and was largely attended. Among those who attended his funeral were Harvey Ham of Fergus, James and Mrs. Henderson and daughter of West Hill. Jesse Ham, Wm. and Sam. Walkey, Mrs C. T. Ham and daughter, Miss Vernie of Toronto.
