Edwin Ernest Annis Brougham - Another former citizen of Brougham passed away in the Kingston Hostpital on February 21st in the person of Edwin Earnest Annis, who has spent the past five years in Athens, Ont. Mr. Annis was well known in this community where he farmed for a number of years, later turing the farm over to his only son Mervin. He operated the hardware store here for some years for Mr. Mairs, later he purchased a store at Kendal, selling that, he moved to Athens. He was instrumental in helping to organize the Brougham Citizens' League and was Fire Chief for a number of years. He leaves to mourn: his widow, May Cassells; one son Mervin, of Brougham; Mrs. Lorne Morrish (Myrna), Highland Creek, and Mrs. Ralph Jones (Ruby) , of Claremont; one brother Blake and one sister Mrs. Turner. The funeral was held from the Judson Funeral Home, Athens, on February 24th, with Rev. Mr. Beckle, officiating. Mrs. ""Bert"" Harvey Brougham, Ont. - There passed away at her home here on Saturday, February 25th, Susanna Harvey, widow of the late Albert (Bert) Harvey, in her 83rd year, after a brief illness. Mrs. Harve was born in Toronto, but spent nearly thirty years in the housse whee she passed away, having lived for some years previous in Greenwoo, where she and her late husband had a store. She was Past President and Life Member of the Women's Institute; also a member of the Women's Missionary Society of St. John's United Church, and attended church when able. She is survived by her two sons: Robert (Bob) of Tall Pines, Haliburton; and Albert (Al) at home; two grandsons and one grand-daughter, and four great grandchildren. The funeral was held on Tuesday, February 23,, from the Turner and Prter Funeral Home with interment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Rev. H. Lackey officiated. The pallbearers were: Messers M. [Maden], Robt., Harvey Jr., Robt., Dean, John Harvey, W. Bayles and J. White. "
