Rogers of Toronto, a former baker and confectioner in the village.The late Mr. Rogers was a member of and descendant of the family of early pioneers which came into this area early in the last century. While in Pickering all members of this family were highly thought of as community-minded citizens, active in church and all other circles of village life. Following Mrs. Rogers death Mr. Rogers and family moved to Toronto where they operated a grocery business in the East End for many years.He is survived by two sons; Clarence and Fred, and two daughters, Elsie and Helen (Mrs. N.D. Henderson). Interment was made at the Whitevale Cemetery.
