HomeMy WebLinkAbout1172Handwritten document, 21.5 x 33 cm., 1 page, dated November 3, 1910. Excerpts from Statute Canada, Cap. 144. 1853. Assented to 23rd May 1853. An act to incorporate the Pickering Harbour and Road Joint Stock Company. Incorporators David Clark, William Dunbar, Truman P, White and Samuel Reesor. The Act authorizes the formation of a Joint Stock Co. under the style of the Pickering Harbour and Road Joint Stock Copmany for the purpose of constructing a Harbour in the necessary piers, wharves, store hands and planked and other roads herewith to be connected at Frenchmans Bay situated on part of lots 23, 24 and 25 in the broken front and in the 1st Cocession of the Township of Pickering which Company was duly registerd in the 11th day of December in the year aforesaid: and that the said Company have since increased their capital Stock which now amounts to upward of six thousand pounds; and they have caused the instrument creating the additional Stock to be duly registered and with the consent of the owners and occupiers of the soil and freehold of the land adjacent to the said Bay have expended divers large sums of money in and about making a safe and commodius Harbour at Frenchmans Bay aforsaid and in and about the dredging and deepening of the basin of said Bay in and near to the allownace for road between lots number 24 and 25 in said broken front Concession and have extended into contracts for the completion of said works. Note JHA - The remaing clauses in the act are the regular ones in compliance with the Act to reunite the Provinces of Upper and Lower Canada and for the __?___ of Canada. Copied by J.H.
