History Burned
Firefighters attempt to douse a blaze that caused more than $1 million damage to a
Claremont home Thursday. The building on the right — the birthplace of Group of Seven
painter Tom Thomson — suffered smoke damage but much of the rest of the estate was
gutted. Lightning is suspected to be the cause.
"
