Ceremony to coincide with opening of new Claremont community centre PICKERING — Special ceremonies are being held June 21 to rededicate Claremont Park to the memory of veterans who did not return from world wars. The park is located next to the Claremont Legion on Old Brock Road. Plaques dedicating the park to the veterans were removed during the construction of a new community centre in Claremont. The community centre is to be opened June 21 and the park will be rededicated the same day. Ceremonies are to begin at 12:30 p.m. They will include a drum head service, a short service to honor the veterans, and a short march from the branch to the park entrance. The Uxbridge Pipe Band will attend (he event. An open house at the Legion follows the ceremonies. "
