The auction sale of the estate of the late Jordon Post took place at the Gordon House in this village on Saturday last, and was very well attended. The bidding, however, was not as spirited as might have been expected, considering that the estate is finely and conviently located. Parcels 1 and 2 were first put up in one lot, and after the bidding had reached $9,700, was knocked down to Mr. Wesley Walton, a farmer at present residing near Newcastle, in Clarke township, County of Durham. Parcel 3 was withdrawn, the highest bid being $2,700, which was considered not near its value. Parcel 4, a quarter acre lot in this village, went for an extra good figure—$381 —to Mr. George Leng. Mr. Thomas Poucher conducted the sale, and as usual gave the best of satisfaction."
