Valentine Cornell. He was in his 81st year.Mr. Cornell was born east of the village and attended
No. 4 East school. The son of Gervas Cornell and the former Caroline Churchill they farmed
there, later moving to the west-end, Pickering where they farmed for many years,and they then
retired to Pickering Village. Mr Cornell was well known here spending his life here, moving to
the West again, only a few years ago. He was a member of the Society of Friends.Surviving
are: a brother, Walter; a nephew, Clifford and a niece, Dorothy, all of Edmonton. A brother,
Albert, predeceased him abour 65 years ago.Service was held in Vancouver, where he had
been living, with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery there.
