This buildine was constructed by
ponccrs who ciaratcd to this area
from
m Pennsylvania in the early 1800s.
Members of the congregation hauled
the bricks from the Cherrvwood brick
yard. Heads of local families served
through the gears as trustees. These
included Reasons, Wideman% Nlghswnrdera.
Hoovers and Stouffsrs. The first grace
is dated 1835. The last regular service
as held September 15, 1974. The
church and cemetery are reminders of
the work and influence of the
Mennonites in the development of this
community.
