APPEALS
Before the results are announced a Special Revising Board gives careful consideration
to the result of each candidate's examination. The marks obtained on each paper on which
he fails ,to obtain the pass mark are considered along with the Report of the teacher, and
the general standing of the candidate on the whole examination as well as any circum-
stance reported to the Department as likely to affect the examination are fully considered.
A candidate who fails to make pass standing in a paper may have his answer paper
re -read on making an appeal: but no appeal .For re -reading an answer paper for the pur-
pose of securing proficiency, or honour standing when the candidate has already passed in
such paper will be considered. The examination records show that in the great majority
of cases it is useless to appeal against the decision of the Special Revising Beard. The fee
for appeal, which will be returned if the appeal is sustained, is $2.00 per paper. The appeal
should be addressed to the Deputy Minister cif Education, Parliament Buildings, Toronto,
and should state the paper the candidate desires to have reconsidered and the centre at
which he wrote. Teachers who undertake to enter appeals for their pupils should make
the appeal for each candidate on a separate sheet of paper and submit therewith the
prescribed fee.
No appeal will be entertained after the first day of October.

If a certificate is lost, a duplicate may be obtained by completing the form
"Declaration in the Matter of a Lost Certificate," a copy of which may be obtained on
