Friends and Neighbours,
Hi! I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome our new
neighbours who have recently moved to our Lakeside community
Staxton Glen.
In a constant effort to create a more attractive and
improving the equity in our investments, I have investigated
an important avenue that needs immediate attention.
Currently, this subdivision is considered still under
construction and officially has not been assumed by the Town
of Pickering. This i.s important in that we can add further
improvements without major applications, permits and red
tape.

Originally, Shipstate the developer, had planned to build
entrance gates on each side of the road beside Mr. & Mrs.
Meyer's and Mr. & Mrs. Pong's homes. Due to some financial
factors this was not done and cancelled.
I believe that these gates should be completed and I have
begun to orchestrate the financial plan and seek your
support.
Page 2
In discussing this with Rick Rondeau, he has worked out an
agreement with Braidstone Company, who would build these gate
posts and put a cap on the edge with a granite plaque with
6taxton Glen engraved into it. The price is $13,000,
excluding the base preparation which is difficult to
estimate, however, Tom Forsythe is probably the most
reasonable for base preparation as we've all found.
With an estimated cost of $jt0,000 + or - I have talked with
Bill Brown of Shipstate, our developer, who is determining
if he will support the project by assisting us financially.
Initially, he mentioned $3,000., however, apparently he has
$8,000. plus of tree planting expense planned for the
boulevards and other commitments lie hasn't completed. I
believe that this could be used towards the construction of
the gatepost.
As these negotiations begin, I believe that we should start
this construction immediately, prior to the road being
assumed by the Town.
Each home would contribute $665. towards the construction for
a total of $19,977.60. If Bill Brown comes through,
proportionate refunds will be split and returned to you,
along with any savings attributed during construction.
To start the ball rolling, we require a cheque for $665. made
out to: "IN TRUST STAXTON GLEN HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION."
This cheque will not be cashed until the funds are requited
to pay for the construction sometime in May or June. Please
send this cheque to: M.J. Bryant

or drop it by. If you have any concerns, please give me a
call at home at 427-2095 or at the office at 686-1261.
I require your cheque by 444W 30, 1990.
