Baron Oxford was by Duke of Geneva 19014, from Lady Oxford 5th by Third Duke of Thorndale
17749, g. d. Lady Oxford 4th, exported to England in 1801. This bull was sold at the Havering Park
sale for 500 gs.; his dam won the first prize as a yearling at the Royal Worcester Show, and was sold
to the Duke of Devonshire for 600 gs.
Sixth Duke of Airdrie, bred by Mr. Alexander, Kentucky, was exported to England in 1862; he
was by Albion 19209, from Second Duchess of Airdrie, &c. Great Mogul was a noted prize bull in
England, and, like Albion 19209, was a son of the celebrated sire Grand Turk.
Lady Oxford is of the old Towneley Vestris tribe, five of which were sold at the Towneley sale in
1864 for X103 14s. 9d. each. This tribe is in direct descent from Mr. Chas. Colling's Countess, sold in
1810, when nine years old, for 400 ga.

Countess of Barrington by Third Grand Duke, &c. This tribe has of lute years commanded very high
prices, a heifer of the family recently selling at auction for 815 gs.
Lord Oxford 2nd, exported to England in 1802, was of pure Oxford blood, being a son of Fourth
Duke of Thorndale and Oxford 13th, bred by Mr. Bates; he was sold in 1867 for 200 gs. George 1st
was of Spencer blood; he won the first prize as the best bull of any age at the North Lincolnshire
Show in 1861. Duke of Bolton was a son of the 1000 gs. Grand Duke from Florence, a daughter of
Mr. R. Booth's celebrated cow Fame. Nuke of Glo'ster was sold at Earl Ducie's sale for 650 gs.
Lady Juliet is of the celebrated old J tribe, which is held in much esteem both in America and
England; it is said to be In direct descent from Mr. Robert Colling's noted cow Princess, sold to Sir H.
Vane Tempest, and the ancestress of the eclebrated Owynqe and Elvira branches of the Princess line.

Gwynne, &c. General Havelock was a son of Mr. Booth's Benedict. Janet is descended from Mr.
Spraggon's stock, bred in Northumberland for a very long period.
Mr. Miller also imported a three-year old Stallion, a three-year old Mare,
and one Shetland Pony; twenty-one pure-bred Cotswold Sheep, fifteen of
which were rants, selected from the best and most successful ,flocks in the
country; also a number of pure-bred Berkshire Pigs, from Messrs. Swan -
wick, Fowler, Hum/•ey, and other noted breeders and owners, as well as
a few very superior Shepherd Dogs.
Morquis, bred at Howes, was by Mr. Lax's Majestic, from Milkmaid by Knight of the Tyne, &e. =♦
(see pedigree of Dairymaid). Mr. Banting, bred by Mr. R. Jefferson, was by Capt. Spencer's Prince
Louis, a Booth bull, from Rose Duchess, descended from the Rosedale tribe. Knight Errant was bred

Dido is descended from a tribe that has been in the possession of the Lawson family at Stapleton 1,
(on the banks of the Tees, the home of the Shorthorns) for many yearn, and is full of the blood of Mr.
Mason's stock of Chilton, which was considered equal and as fine cattle as the Brothers Collings.

Oct -HAVING sold my farm, and giving the purchaser possession
1st, 1906, my entire stock of registered Shorthorns and South
downs will be sold to the highest bidder without any reserve.
The Shorthorns are a good useful lot, all in good healthy condition,
and all regular breeders. They are principally of Syme foundation, on
which the very best bulls obtainable have been used.
The 40 head of Southdowns are of Webb extraction, and won
first at Toronto Exhibition for Canadian bred flock, 1904.
Will also sell the Farm Horses, and 20 head of Grade Cattle.

ECLIPSER is a straight, thick, low-down youngbull of the type to
suit the present day demands, and, from his excellent breeding,
should make a valuable sire.
Langford Eclipse, 50049, was bred by Sidney Hill, of Somerset,
England, was sired by Count Valiant (74307), dam Lavender Lilac
by Wiltshire Victor. Langford Eclipse was a grand individual and
sire and sold for $1425.00 by public auction last year.
Fitz -Stephen Forester, 36030, has stood at the head 6f Messrs.
J. & W. Russell's herd for the past six years, where he has proved
an excellent sire. He was bred by the late W. T. Talbot Crosbie,
Ardfert, Ireland, was sired by Fitz -Stephen Lavender (73732), and
out o` Flower of Alesly 29th, by British Hope (60415).
Indian Chief, 1 i 1o8, one of the greatest sires the breed has yet
produced, was bred by A. Cruickshank, Sittyton, Sc_tland, was got

breeder. Has never been shown except. at our county fair, where
she de''eated some of the Toronto winners as a two -year -.old. She
