Dear Robert
Just a line to respond to your letter of March 27
advising me of the name and address of the sawmill
owner in the Uxbridge area. I shall contact him at
the first opportunity.
I have talked to Peter Ledwith about the bean and
seed cleaner and he advises me that he has now had the
opportunity to make the necessary drawings and photos
of it and it could go back to you at our mutual
convenience. I have also asked him to check through
our stock of screens to check on the number which might
be available. We will report back to you after he has
completed his inventory. While I have not heard anything
about the wagon which might be available at the hospital
in Hawkestone, I will follow this up with Garnet to see
if it is possible to obtain it.
I greatly appreciated the opportunity to chat with you
when you were in the office recently. I regret very
much the turn of events that appears to have taken place
in the Hawkestone facility, particularly the estranged
relationships that have resulted. As I reported to you
at that time, we have been unable to obtain an extension
on your appointment on a four day a week basis, and I
await your decision on whether you wish me to proceed
with a three day a week appointment if this is possible.
I have not yet had a firm directive on the status of
three day casuals in Hawkestone, but I expect it shortly.
If it is as I suspect, only one will be permitted and
if such is the case I feel bound at this time to offer
that contract to Dick Boughen since he has been a faithful
employee for some years.

I enjoyed the telephone discussions which I had last
week with Mrs. Miller and I hope that this undertaking
will be a fruitful one for you. If there is any other
way that I can be of assistance, I will be pleased to
try.
I almost forgot to add that we have several of your
machinery manuals which we borrowed from you and have
had committed to microfilm. We do appreciate your
lending them to us for this purpose. They can be
returned to you along with the seed cleaner.
Best regards

Dear Sir
RE: ROBERT MILLER
It has been drawn to my attention that Robert Miller,
presently employed as a Restoration Specialist with
the Ontario Agricultural Museum, has filed an application
with the St. Lawrence Parks Commission for the position
of "Curator of Agriculture" at Upper Canada Village
as advertised in the most recent issue of Topical.
As General Manager of the Ontario Agricultural Museum
and as such as his supervisor at this time, I want to
go on record as endorsing Mr. Miller's application
and recommending him highly for this position.
Mr. Miller has had many years of experience in museum
work having been one of those instrumental in organizing
the Brougham Museum. In this capacity he was largely
responsible for collecting the substantial collection
of artifacts and restoring them for display. He is an
avid historian having written an excellent book on the
history of Brougham.
Since his residence and former place of business were
required by the Government of Ontario and Canada to
facilitate the establishment of the Pickering Airport,
Mr. Miller has been emp]oyed at the Ontario Agricultural
Museum's Hawkestone site as a Restoration Specialist in
agricultural machinery.
I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this
man and I hope you will give him favourable consideration.
Sincerely
RWC:mz
