Ari - other heifer also sickened but recover- ed. Dr. Tefft who was called says that the symptoms indicated poison, and Mr. Tomlinson is firmly convinced thatthat this is the case, as on four previous occasions he has suffered loss from this cause. On the lith of Janu- ary last, he lust his doll. • and last fall, poison he says was. put in the water- ing trough and two horses which drenk therefrom nearly died. Widdifield. He had not beer in good health for some years.. His wife died only few weeks ago. • Alen, Munto, who lived here for sev-. eral years and owned and occupied the brick 'residen'ce 'near' the station on King Street. died at his home at 179 Seaton street, Toronto. last week. A lamp exploded at the ' hhrile of John Wilson on Reach street Monday night and for a few minutes gave the family considerable worry. The car- pet of the room was destroyed and the walls and 'ceiling blackened. The funeral of the late -James -Palmer who died at Oxdrift on Tuesday of last week, took ' place from his father's home on. Firstt'Avenue on Sunday afternoon and was largely attended. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Harper and the local` lodge of the Sons of England. There seems tc be no let up to the sneak thieving which has been all too prevalent in town during the past 'year.
