Flu bug forces nursing home
visitors to call ahead
PORT PERRY — Due to a recent
flu outbreak. Port PerrN Villa and
Community Nursing Home is ad� ising
people to call before tositing lovc�

nursing home is just starting it) over-
come its own battle i4ith the flu,
according to Administrator Edna Goss.
The impact of the influenza attack
was lessened by the villa's practice of
promoting early flu shols for seniors
each fall, she says.
"A high percentage of residents are
immunized which is why we're not
looking at everyone being ill," Ms.
Goss explains.
"Most people did get (the flu) but
they were not as ill as they could have
been it the% hadn't had their hot.
