Claremont/Brougham United Church.
"THE MINISTER’S MESSAGE
Dear Friends:
Once again it is that time of year when one reviews the work of the Pastoral Charge.
Many questions must be asked and hopefully answered. Have we achieved what we
set out to do? Has the Gospel of Jesus Christ reached you as an individual? If not--why
not? Who is Prophet among us to answer... the Holy Spirit of God works in many
mysterious ways His wonders to perform.
This Annual Report will illustrate a few changes for the good, as it will also the struggle
of those who are working under very heart-breaking conditions. Every year we try to do
better, in some cases we suceed, more often often we become rather frustrated.
In Claremont, our Sunday School is enjoying a very broad area of our community,
in 1960, maybe the parents will receive a push by the HOLY SPIRIT and join their
children in worship.
St. John's, Brougham deserve to be highly commended with the work they have done
in 79 and for what they have achieved through heartfelt concern and determination.
We have received a few new families into our Church, the Sunday school is growing,
surely God must look upon their work and will say ""Well DONE2. The fight is not yet
over, but it is well commenced.
Our programs need talent that many of you have; in the Sunday School, choirs,
and possible other activities we are concerned with. Talents abound... but how do you
get them acquainted with the need??? God created and we create... Jesus gave and
so must we…Clavary was not an isolated event, but an ongoing event...So where do
we go from here?.. .....Only YOU can answer that.
I would like to express my thanks for whatever cooperation you have been able to give
in our ministry together. It has been great...some are loaded down with work,
while others simply drift from one day to the next. Why not get involved,
you might find you like it. Our purpose as a Christian Community is to act as GOD’S
""HANDS"", in a world which is not really convinced that HE'S ALIVE.
May God so grant that we as a Chritian Community serve his Church in our generation,
that we may hear those crowning words of glory, ""Well done thou good and faithful
servant”.
Sincerely Yours in His Service
Rev. Edward V.Cook
