1. The depth and width of the amOavations for the abutments of

some shall be taken down to a good and solid foundation, and the
Contractor shall not lay any staccato until such member or members

directions to proceed with the laying of the concrete therein.

3. The acntraotor will first take out all present culverts or
bridges, including abutments and all stone and timbers, which the
member or members of the 0oanail in aharge of the work respect-
lyel_y shall direct to be removed, and shall make all necessary
