"New Church at Duffin's Creek
A meeting was held at the Temperance Hall, Duffin's Creek, on Monday last for the
purpose of raising subscriptions towards the building of a new English brick Church
at that place. A committee was appointed for the purpose and Mr. John Lepper
selected as Treasurer. The following gentlemen subscribed the sums set opposite
to their names on the spot: Peter Head,&25; John Richardson, &20; John Elliott &25;
Frederick Green, &15; John Lepsey,&10; William Cuthbert, &6 8a; James McCreight,
&5; John Lepper, &7 10s; John Head, Farmer, &5;Charles Pront (?spelling unclear)
&5...; Robert Francis, &5; Francis Brunker, &1 5a.; William B. Walker, &12 10s.;
William Whiteside, &12 10s.; Jno.Head, &8 10s.;Jas. Peters, &2 10s.; William Slier
