HomeMy WebLinkAbout2124Lynda and Ron Baird have been collaborating on large scale, site-specific sculpture
commissions for twelve years. Prior to that they each had twenty years of their own art/sculpture
careers. "Our work has many imaginative elements that move in the wind, are light-responsive
or make gentle sounds. Some pieces also include electronics, electronic sound, textile
elements, imaginative light sources and often involve other artists in collaboration."
Over the years they have investigated many different materials, ferrous and non-ferrous metals,
glass, wood, fibre, music, kinetics, various patinations and innovative lighting. Their experitse
is a collaboration of their sixty years of combined experience and the many talented artists,
architects, landscape architects and designers they work with.
Their body of work is impressive, having completed over 150 public commissions with
imaginative variety of concepts. These include fountains, sculptural landmarks for world's fairs
and civic parks, other civic locations, both interior and exterior, towers, murals, carillons and
site specific pieces for business, donor recognition and industry.
