To the reeve of the Corporation of the
Township of Pickering.
As requested I have mead a survey and measurements of that part of
the road allowance on the front of lot 13 in the first concession, and
also of that part of what is known as puffins creek, which rune paral-
lel thereto and crosses the said road allowance, and I find that the
road occupies and pensee through the flats of tis o_eek to the a -tent
Go from 725 to 900 feet.
That occasionally this part o_ the road is flooded by the water
that comes down the creek to the depth of four feet, that renders it
almost impassible and unsafe for the residents in the locality to one.
That I also enunined the old bridge, which at the present time spend
the creek; it is 66 feet in length and 19 feet in width; that the two
longitudes! stringers that support it I consider unsafe, as they
would not, in my opinion, bear or carry the weight of an eight or ten
tan traction engine and threshing Gard t machine.
"yet when a new oridge is not up. I recd=end a steel bridge with
ugsn of l99 feet, reating on cement and concrete butments. A bridge
of 109 feet Open is required in thin place on account of the great
quantity of water that is brought down by the Creek and its branches,
some ns which is from the Horth end of the Township; that the anal!
bridge or culvert at the west side of the flats is of no use, and say
be filled up.
With this P§port I submit e Plan and Prnfi'_e , which will show the
relative positions of the road, creek and bridge.
I remain
Your obt. sevt., i
