Mr. Andrew Glen
Gleobrook
Locust Hill, onterlo
Bear Hr. Glen:
I have year letter of 27 March In which you request information
on lot 19 of the fifth concession of Pickering Township.
The record of bargain and sales of this lot is as follows:
Patent 8 July 1799 to Henry Smith '-
4020 B.S. 13 July 1821 " names Hubbard '-
26834 B.S. 16 Dec, 1845 (Sk) James Hubbard
38150 B.S. 4 October 1050 (Sk) Archibald C. Thamaw ✓
1655 B.S. 26 August 1054 (Sk) !' Charles Thompson
20291 B.S. 27 Ccs 1862 (Sk) " Archibald C. Thomson
23397 B.S. 19 April 1864 (Sk) " Jahn Smith r
Checking registry office instruments I find that Archibald C.
Thomman was a lumber merchant, whose address s Trenton in 1054, and the
Village of Angus, Ease TV., in Simone Cuddly, in 1862 6 1864. Charles
Thompson (spelled with a "p") was a
wcarpenter and In 1854 resided 1n Picker-
ing Toahlp, but had moved to Angus by 1862. In 1862 Charles was married e
to Elizabeth _. In 1864 Archibald Thomson's wife is given as Saphrona
M. Thomson.
There is a book published in 1911 by Witham g. Bond called Past
Years in Pickering. It contains a biographical sketch-ef Andrew Thompson,
innkeeper (his fan the southwest t of it ssien 5). Y
in which the authorsayshis Thompson s the w who established a
deer park in the south half of his lot. I.e.I lot 13. eI have no reference
to the name 'Thompson s Corners."
Archibald and Charles may very well be related, however. It
seems evident that Andrew Thompson is of a different Emily.
This is all the lnforeafion we can find on the subject and I do
hope It clarifies the questions in year mind.
Years afncerely,
A. H. Murdoch iiSV
