passes in her 86th year.Furneral services were held Wednesday for one of Pickering's oldest
residents, in the person of Mrs. Rebecca Emma Balsdon, at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Gordon Law. Mrs. Baldson was born at Brooklin, later coming to the Base Line.
Upon her marriage she returned to Brooklin, and shortly after they moved to Pickering and about
thirty years ago retired to the village, where Mrs. Balsdon has since resided.She was a life long
member of the Methdist Church, later the United Church. She is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Gordon Law, and six sons, Wesley, John, Robert, and Clare of Pickering: Fred of Burford;
Louis of Edmonton. A sister, Mrs. Wm. Burt of Toronto also survives.The funeral was held from
the home of her daughter. Rev. M.R. Jenkinson conducted the services, assisted by Rev. E.G.
Robinson. Interment took place in Mount Lawn Cemetery.
