After a lingering illness due to the infirmities of old age, one of the oldest residents of the
township, in the person of Lorenzo White, of the Seventh Concession passed away on Tuesday,
in his 92nd year. Mr. White was a life long resident of Pickering and was highly esteemed by
all who know him. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. James Stephenson of
the 8th concession and Mrs. Smith, of Toronto. He had only one son, Melville, who died in the
North West some years ago. His funeral took place on Thursday to St. John's Cemetery on the
seventh concession. The sympathy of the community is extended to the family in their
bereavement.
