Wedding bells —A very pleasant and happy event took place on Thursday evening,
24th inst., at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. S. Nicholson, Dunbarton station,
it being the marriage of their eldest daughter Flora M. to Chas. I. King,
eldest son of S. King, Esq. Only the immediate relations and friends of the
contracting parties were invited to witness the important ceremony which was
performed by Rev. J. Chisholm, B. A. At 4 o'clock, mid the strains' of
Mendellsohn's Wedding March, played by Prof. Wiggins, of Toronto,
uncle of the groom, the charming bride was escorted to the altar and given
away by her father and the knot firmly and securely tied. The bride was
charmingly attired in navy blue with crystal trimmings. She was attended by her
sister, Miss Ella Nicholson who was also attired in navy blue, while the groom was
ably assisted by his brother Alex. The ceremony being ended, many congratulations
were showered upon them when the company adjourned to the dining room,
where a sumptuous repast was enjoyed. The bride was the recipient of many
handsome and valuable presents, which shows the esteem in which the bride and
groom were held. The rest of the evening was spent in singing, music, etc.,
after which the newly married couple were escorted to their handsome residence on
King street East, That prosperity and happiness may always be theirs is the with of their
many friends."
