Dunbarton School Addition Officially Opened.
Increased demands for accommodation at the school at Dunbarton resulted in the meeting of the
same by the addition of four class rooms to No. 3 East, Dunbarton, which were officially opened
on the stormiest night of the winter, Friday last, with Board chairman, John Phillips presiding.
Prettily decorated the teachers of these class-rooms were introduced to the guests by Principal
Reg. Parker. Deputy-Reeve Geo. Todd substituted for Reeve Westney, and congratulated the
Board and the Staff with their pupils on the beautiful rooms they now have.
Board Secretary John Forgie introduced the other Board members Messrs Harris Little and
Walter Lynde.
Mr Archibald, School Inspector introduced the speaker. Mr. C. F. Cannon, Supt. of Elementary
Education of Ontario, who conveyed congratulations and best wishes from the Minister of
Education. He congratulated the architects, the workmen and the board for their excellent work.
Mr. Cannon officially handed the keys to the Chairman of the Board and declared the addition
officially opened. Included on the program were numbers by the school choir, and piano numbers
by Mr. Nelson of the staff. Grade 4 under Mr. Nelson sang several delightful numbers.
Lunch was served at the close by members of the School and Home Association."
