Walt Sleep, 77, Fatally Injured
Walter Sleep, a life-long resident of Pickering was fatally injured on Monday evening when
struck by a Markham car, just east of the No. 2 Highway and Brock Road corner. Mr Sleep was
on his way to the village to visit the doctor, and was reportededly walking on the wrong side of
the road at the time. Multiple hip injury, back and head wounds were received. Rushed to
Oshawa Hospital, Mr Sleep died the next day.
The funeral will be held today from the McEachnie Funeral home a 2:30 p.m. with interment in
Erskine Cemetery. Deceased was a member of the United Church and is survived by his wife,
the former Lottie Calvert, and two brothers, Edward and Morley, both of Pickering.
